About us
Bourton Meadow Initial Teacher Training Centre (ITTC) is a provider of employment-based training, leading to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Our centre is based at Bourton Meadow School, an Outstanding OfSTED Primary School in the market town of Buckingham, which is situated in North Buckinghamshire, close to the Northamptonshire/Oxfordshire borders.
Bourton Meadow ITTC offers 20 places per year on the Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) for the Primary age range. because we place our students into one of our local partnership schools, which becomes the graduates employer for the duration of the course. This eliminates the need for prospective candidates to find a school before making an application.
Our programme is unique due to the continuous personalised support we provide in the form of weekly visits to trainees in our partnership schools. The support and encouragement our trainees receive throughout their training is second to none.
The GTP is a very intensive course which runs from the beginning of September to the end of June. The training is class based for four days a week, with one day a week spent on Core Training at Bourton Meadow. Trainees receive a salary for the duration of the course which is approximately £15,000 pro rata.
